LEADING EMPLOYERS is the most comprehensive survey of its kind of employer qualities in Austria, in which over 250 international sources of various types and nature are regularly taken into account. A total of around 100,000 companies were analysed.

‘We are delighted to once again be among the top 1% employers in Austria,’ says Mark Pollok about the award. 

The award was presented on 25 April at the Palais Eschenbach in Vienna to Martina Erber, Head of Recruiting for Austria, and Neda Katanic, Head of Marketing in Austria. 

LEADING EMPLOYERS ist die in ihrer Art umfassendste Untersuchung von Arbeitgeberqualitäten in Österreich, in welcher regelmäßig über 250 internationale Quellen verschiedenster Art und Natur berücksichtigt werden. Insgesamt wurden ca. 100.000 Unternehmen untersucht.

The world of work has changed drastically in recent years - not least due to digitalization and the impact of the pandemic. Today, companies and employees are faced with the challenge of finding the right working model.

Working from home/remote: flexibility and independence

Working from home has become extremely popular in recent years. 

The big advantage for employees: It offers a high degree of flexibility. No long commuting times, the opportunity to personalise their working day and a better work-life balance. Working from home can be a real relief, especially for commuters, parents or people with special needs.

But it's not just employees who benefit: Companies also often have lower office rental and infrastructure costs by working from home. In addition, talented employees can be recruited from all over the world without having to be close to the company headquarters.

Despite the advantages of remote working, the desire to work in the office is still valid. For many employees, the office workplace provides an important structure. It is a place for direct communication, creative collaboration and spontaneous ideas. Personal contact with colleagues and superiors creates a strong sense of community and promotes the corporate culture.

Some people also work more concentrated and productively in this environment.

Many people also find it easier to separate their working hours from their free time when they have the office as a clear place to work. When you leave the office, it's officially closing time.

Hybrid working combines the best of both worlds: Employees can work both from home and on site in the office. This model offers the greatest possible flexibility and enables companies to support their employees individually. While in the office, employees benefit from direct collaboration, teamwork and personal dialogue. When working from home, they enjoy the freedom to organise their working day flexibly and concentrate on their projects and tasks. 

The advantage of hybrid working for companies is that they can offer both the flexibility of working from home and the structure and team dynamics of the office. This can not only increase satisfaction and productivity, but also help to attract and retain the best talent in the long term. After all, young talents from the millennial and GenZ generations in particular place a strong focus on independence, flexibility and work-life balance.

There is no right or wrong way to choose a working model, as each has its own justification. 

While the home office/remote work scores highly in terms of flexibility and a better work-life balance, the office promotes direct dialogue, teamwork and team building. Hybrid working therefore seems to be the happy medium, as it combines both flexibility and the benefits of personal contact.

It therefore depends heavily on the individual needs of the employees and the requirements of the company as to which model is best suited. Companies that prioritise flexibility and employee satisfaction may prefer hybrid working as a long-term solution, while others may continue to see the traditional office as the main place of work. If it is a company with multinational teams, remote working from home is the optimal solution.

The future of work is becoming increasingly diverse. Flexibility, a healthy work-life balance and a strong corporate culture will continue to play a decisive role. Whether home office, office or hybrid working - the right model is the one that best meets the needs of employees and companies. Developments in recent years have shown that innovative working models are not only possible and necessary, but also beneficial to developments on the labour market for companies and employees.

Es ist der Ort für direkte Kommunikation, kreative Zusammenarbeit und spontane Ideen. Der persönliche Kontakt mit Kolleg:innen und Vorgesetzten schafft ein starkes Teamgefühl und fördert die Unternehmenskultur.

Manche arbeiten in dieser Umgebung auch konzentrierter und produktiver.

Unternehmen, die auf Flexibilität und Mitarbeiterzufriedenheit setzen, könnten hybrides Arbeiten als langfristige Lösung bevorzugen, während andere das traditionelle Büro weiterhin als wichtigsten Arbeitsort sehen. Handelt es sich um ein Unternehmen mit multinationalen Teams ist Remote Work und Homeoffice die optimale Lösung.

Entwicklung Zeitarbeitsmarkt 2025

A new year has begun and we are looking forward to it with great expectations. We see great opportunities for our company in the industry in 2025 through technological integration and new business areas. However, major economic challenges remain. 

Economic stagnation will remain a key factor in Europe for at least the first half of 2025. Inflation and unstable political situations are making companies reluctant to invest, which in turn is leading to a low demand for employees. 

A lack of large orders will have a particular impact on temporary personnel. 

Mark Pollok, CEO of Trenkwalder Group AG,

“After an economically challenging 2024, we can also expect 2025 to be a challenging year. The past year has shown that companies are increasingly focusing on optimising costs and increasing efficiency in an uncertain market environment. Demand for traditional temporary work models continues to fall, particularly in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, while specialised niche markets such as IT and healthcare have remained stable or even grown. 

At the same time, business process outsourcing (BPO) services are experiencing a significant upturn due to their cost benefits. These trends will continue in the first quarter of 2025. The European BPO market in particular, with its growth potential of around 6.6% per year, is likely to develop further momentum. 

I expect cloud-based solutions and automation to play a decisive role. This means that the temporary staffing market is facing two key challenges - reduced order volumes in traditional temporary staffing on the one hand and increasing competitive pressure from specialised providers on the other. Personnel service providers can counter this with customised BPO solutions and a strategic focus on growth sectors.”

Trenkwalder will therefore continue to rely on 

 as a driving force in 2025. The use of AI tools such as Large Language Models (LLM) will not only increase efficiency, but also enable completely new solutions: cloud-based platforms will help to centralise processes and improve collaboration between customers and service providers. 

Trenkwalder has also expanded its portfolio to include two new products that are expected to become increasingly relevant in 2025 and further extend its technological lead - on-site and remote personal assistance and recruiting process outsourcing (RPO). 

, for example in the areas of office and telephone services, practice and customer support or virtual assistance, allow maximum flexibility in the deployment of specialised staff. 

.  Trenkwalder uses its specialist expertise in recruiting to map the entire recruiting process or parts of it for its customers. While the companies concentrate on their core business, Trenkwalder improves the candidate experience and ensures a faster time-to-hire. 

The focus on both new products shows that the placement of customised, specialised workers and the provision of individual, efficient and easily scalable processes will be the new face of the temporary employment market.

Ein neues Jahr hat begonnen und wir blicken ihm mit großen Erwartungen entgegen. Für unser Unternehmen sehen wir für das Jahr 2025 große Chancen in der Branche durch technologische Integrationen und neue Geschäftsfelder. Dabei bleiben große wirtschaftliche Herausforderungen jedoch bestehen. 

Wie die Bundesagentur für Arbeit prognostiziert, bleibt die wirtschaftliche Stagnation mindestens im ersten Halbjahr 2025 maßgebend. Inflation und instabile politische Lagen sorgen für zögerliche Investitionen auf Unternehmensseite, was wiederum zu einem geringen Bedarf an Arbeitskräften führt. 

Fehlende Großaufträge wirken sich insbesondere auf Zeitarbeitskräfte aus. 

Mark Pollok, CEO der Trenkwalder Group AG, sieht darin aber auch Chancen: 

„Nach einem wirtschaftlich herausfordernden 2024 dürfen wir auch 2025 mit einem anspruchsvollen Jahr rechnen. Das vergangene Jahr hat gezeigt, dass sich Unternehmen in einem unsicheren Marktumfeld verstärkt auf Kostenoptimierung und Effizienzsteigerung fokussieren. Die Nachfrage nach klassischen Zeitarbeitsmodellen sinkt weiterhin, insbesondere in der Automobil- und Fertigungsbranche, während spezialisierte Nischenmärkte wie IT und das Gesundheitswesen stabil geblieben oder gar gewachsen sind. 

Gleichzeitig erleben Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)-Dienstleistungen aufgrund ihrer Kostenvorteile deutlichen Aufschwung. Diese Trends werden sich im ersten Quartal 2025 fortsetzen. Besonders der europäische BPO-Markt dürfte mit seinem Wachstumspotenzial von rund 6,6 % pro Jahr weitere Dynamik entfalten. 

Ich rechne damit, dass cloudbasierte Lösungen und Automatisierung entscheidende Rollen spielen werden. Damit steht der Zeitarbeitsmarkt vor zwei zentralen Herausforderungen – einerseits reduzierte Auftragsvolumina in der klassischen Zeitarbeit, andererseits der steigende Wettbewerbsdruck durch spezialisierte Anbieter. Personaldienstleister können diesen durch maßgeschneiderte BPO-Lösungen und eine strategische Fokussierung auf Wachstumssektoren begegnen.“

Neujahrsvorsätze im Beruf

We all know it: at the beginning of the year, we have many professional goals and aspirations that we would like to achieve in the new year. We are starting very motivated and work towards our goals. However, the more the year progresses, the more this motivation leaves us and we don't change anything. 

Do you recognize yourself here? Then we have 

First, take a piece of paper and a pen, or your notes app on your mobile phone, and write down all your goals and wishes. However, try to remain realistic. It is better not to set yourself unrealistic goals as you will quickly lose motivation. Our tip: Visualise your goals with the help of a vision board. This picture collage (digital or analogue) will help you keep your goals visually in view. 

Think about a strategy for each goal. What is the best way to achieve this goal? For an organised workplace, this could look like this, for example: Sort out your desk, buy folders, categorise your filing system sensibly, throw away empty pens, etc. 

Set yourself priorities. Focus on 3-5 goals at the beginning. Once you have achieved these, you can still achieve the others. These priorities will make it easier for you to realise your resolutions and you will remain more realistic.

It is important that you do not want to have completely realised your New Year's resolution after just one week - this is especially true for larger resolutions. So make a note each week or month of the progress you want to have made in this period.

Establish regular routines that fit in with your goals. On average, it takes around 40 days to get used to new routines. The first few days are hard and unfamiliar, but after a month or so it becomes easier and the routines become almost automatic.

If circumstances change, don't give up your resolutions completely, but adapt them to the new circumstances.

If you fail to achieve a monthly or weekly goal, don't give up straight away, but think about why. Ask yourself what you can improve and how.

Write down every day what small successes you have seen or experienced. In this way, you will quickly notice that something is changing and you will also be aware of it.

Often easier said than done, but: don't compare yourself with others. They may have it easier than you in some areas, but there are also areas where you have it a little easier. Therefore, concentrate only on yourself and your progress.

Finally: Stay patient and don't lose faith in yourself just because things aren't going perfectly!

Wir alle kennen es: Gerade jetzt zu Beginn des neuen Jahres haben wir viele berufliche Ziele und Wunschvorstellungen, die wir gerne verwirklichen würden. Am Anfang sind wir meist sehr motiviert und arbeiten an unseren Zielen. Je weiter das Jahr jedoch fortschreitet, desto mehr verlässt uns diese Motivation und wir verändern doch nichts. 

Erkennen Sie sich hier wieder? Dann haben wir hier 

für Sie, die Ihnen bestimmt weiterhelfen.

Nehmen Sie sich zuerst einen Zettel und einen Stift, oder Ihre Notizen-App auf dem Handy, und schreiben Sie sich alle Ihre Ziele und Wunschvorstellungen auf. Versuchen Sie dabei allerdings realistisch zu bleiben. Unrealistische Ziele sollten Sie sich lieber nicht setzen, da Sie so schnell die Motivation verlieren. Unser Tipp: Visualisieren Sie Ihre Ziele mithilfe eines Visionboards. Durch diese Bildercollage (digital oder analog) behalten Sie Ihre Ziele visuell im Blick. 

Überlegen Sie sich zu jedem Ziel eine Strategie. Wie kann ich dieses Ziel am besten erreichen? Bei einem organisierten Arbeitsplatz könnte dies zum Beispiel so aussehen: Schreibtisch aussortieren, Mappen kaufen, sinnvolle Kategorisierung Ihrer Ablage, leere Stifte wegwerfen, etc. 

Setzen Sie sich Prioritäten. Fokussieren Sie sich zu Beginn zunächst auf 3-5 Ziele. Wenn Sie diese erreicht haben, können Sie die anderen immer noch erreichen. Mit diesen Prioritäten schaffen Sie es, die Vorsätze einfacher umzusetzen und Sie bleiben realistischer.

Es ist wichtig, dass Sie den Neujahrsvorsatz nicht bereits nach einer Woche  schon komplett umgesetzt haben möchten – dies gilt besonders für größere Veränderungen. Notieren Sie sich also hierfür jede Woche oder jeden Monat, welche Fortschritte Sie in diesem Zeitraum erreichen möchten.

Bilden Sie geregelte Abläufe, die zu Ihren Zielen passen. Im Schnitt dauert es etwa 40 Tage, bis wir uns an neue Routinen gewöhnen. Somit sind die ersten paar Tage zwar hart und ungewohnt, allerdings wird es nach einem Monat einfacher und die Routinen laufen fast schon automatisch.

Sollten sich Umstände ändern, geben Sie Ihre Vorsätze nicht direkt komplett auf, sondern passen Sie diese an die neuen Gegebenheiten an.

Überlegen Sie regelmäßig, was gut läuft und was nicht so gut. Sollten Sie an einem Monats- oder Wochenziel scheitern,  geben Sie nicht direkt auf, sondern überlegen Sie, woran es lag. Fragen Sie sich, was Sie wie verbessern können.

Schreiben Sie jeden Tag auf, welche kleinen Erfolge Sie gesehen oder erlebt haben und feiern Sie diese. Auf diese Weise merken Sie schnell, dass sich etwas verändert und Sie nehmen es auch bewusst wahr.

Oft leichter gesagt als getan, aber: Vergleichen Sie sich nicht mit anderen. Diese haben es zwar in manchen Bereichen möglicherweise einfacher als Sie, allerdings gibt es auch welche, in denen Sie es etwas einfacher haben. Konzentrieren Sie sich daher nur auf sich und Ihren Fortschritt.

Zum Schluss: Bleiben Sie geduldig und verlieren geben Sie nicht auf, nur wenn mal nicht alles perfekt läuft! Es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen.
